Can I Safely Remove "Exchange Settings" Folder from a Domain Controller in AD Sites and Services
I want to decomission an old domain controller and I see "Exchange Settings" on AD Sites and Services under the DC we want to remove. The folder has no objects in it. We are running all Windows Server 2008 DCs in 2003 mode. We use Exchange 2003 (production) and Exchange 2010 (only for testing right now). We migrated from Exchange 5.5 to 2000 years ago and I wonder if it was created as part of using the ADC years ago. Can I safely remove this object as part of decomissioning this DC. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards

Any advice would be appreciated. You can just leave it there. It's not doing any harm and it's not being used. Or you can delete it. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Thank you Rich. I'm going to go ahead and demote this domain controller. Regards Don
